New York Rangers Alumni Appearances

As an Original Six NHL franchise, history and tradition are key values to the Rangers brand.  The alumni are the former Rangers who are retired from hockey and have lived the memories that fans hold highly in their hearts.  The current team’s extremely limited availability outside of practice, travel and games, creates a need for additional consumer touchpoints and the Rangers utilize their alumni network to fill this void.  Anthony joined the Rangers CR staff in 2006 with a goal to elevate and expand the Rangers alumni integration into team events and programs.  With President and GM Glen Sather, a Rangers alumnus, alumni are a priority and having that connection to the team history is key to the current team and the brand.

Anthony managed the alumni appearance requests for the Rangers from 2006-13, overseeing the execution of 500+ annual appearances, including games, clinics, client visits, season subscriber retention events, hospital visits and more.  He developed a network of 40+ alumni, local and non-local. who worked regularly for the team.  Anthony coordinated all arrangements for out of town alumni including travel, lodging and hospitality, including the development of a travel stipend to ensure that no alumnus had out of pocket expenses while working for the franchise.

Anthony has been instrumental in the alumni appearance process from planning smaller alumni events completely, such as game viewing parties, to larger six figure budget events like a subscriber Fan Fest.  Anthony was onsite for as many appearances as possible providing event support, interfacing with clients and problem solving as necessary.  Regardless of role, he provided alumni all event information, including talking points and identifying key clients to lead to a successful event.
